One of my favorite things about Christmas is making and decorating cookies with the kids. Last year, I found THIS article by Better Homes & Gardens with a new twist on gingerbread houses.



The trick is to find a large cookie cutter to allow enough surface area for piling on the candy and frosting. You get all the fun of making gingerbread houses but with a simpler 2 dimensional surface! Plus, instead of decorating just one house you can decorate ten or twelve!

Now if you're looking for the perfect ginger cookie recipe, look no further. A few years ago after trying several, I came across one on the inside of a Land 'O Lakes butter box. It calls for only three tablespoons of molasses, which cuts down on the strong flavor many other recipes have. For us, it is gingerbread bliss. HERE is the golden recipe. Write it down. Laminate it. Put it in your safety deposit box and commit it to memory.
