The latest Chicken Soup For The Soul Book has been released: Tough Times, Tough People 101 Stories About Overcoming The Economic Crisis and Other Challenges

Book junkie that I am, I was thrilled to be invited to preview the newest Chicken Soup For The Soul books during the next year and bring you a review and giveaway of each one! This one is especially dear to my heart.

If you’ve read my About Me page, you know this economy hit our family hard. Almost two years ago, my hubby had a construction company in Michigan – which has the 2nd worst economy in the nation right now. Having 5 kids, we struggled to make ends meet – which is when I learned about couponing. I had never used coupons before, and really had no idea how to effectively do it. But because of this new trial I became a pro in no time!

I watched in amazement as our household expenses were cut by almost 60%! From this experience, I became passionate about sharing what I learned with others who may be facing the same trials we did. And out of this desire grew Moms by Heart!

Fast forward to today – we are now living in a beautiful community in the Texas Hill Country. Looking back on the challenges we faced and the changes that have resulted I can honestly say I feel blessed to have experienced it. We have come away with a new appreciation of each other, a new respect for every penny we earn and a new compassion for those who are struggling in any way in life. None of those things would have happened without the storm we walked through.

This book is filled with stories of strength amidst difficult circumstances. You’ll read inspiring stories about folks having to walk through a storm of their own- and how they emerge stronger and wiser on the other side of it.
